Salam, I’m Laila
Laila Abdallah is the founder and president of Rooted Ummah, an all-Muslim-led nonprofit organization that aims to revolutionize how Muslims come together in the modern world. She is a Palestinian-American Hijabi Muslim woman living in the United States.
With a masters in Public Health and over 10 years of experience in event planning, team building and community engagement, Laila leads interactive retreats and vacations all over the world including the United States, India, Palestine, Greece, Spain and Puerto Rico. She is a leader in her community and an activist seeking to uplift Muslim voices.
Known affectionately as “That Muslim Chickk”, Laila can be spotted all over the globe learning new languages, eating local cuisine and reframing stories about Muslims.
In her effort to make her mark on this world, Laila applies her public speaking, change management and people skills to unite individuals towards positive change.
Laila dreams of a world where Muslims can be unapologetically and authentically themselves.
She is an advocate for women’s rights, health equity and education. Fluent in English, Arabic and Spanish.
A transplant from Savannah, Georgia, she now lives in Wisconsin with her purrfect cat, Sully.

My approach
I believe in people. While technology and businesses continue to evolve to meet society’s need- I know one thing to be true: people come first. That’s why all of my work centers around serving people-the hardworking people brining your mission and vision to life and the countless number of people relying on your product and/or services. I have a master’s degree (MPH), a project management certificate (PMP) and over a decade of experience developing leaders, implementing strategic solutions, and getting creative with planning personalized trainings, workshops, global travel experiences, and more!
